Venture Club of Kingman is a volunteer organization for young, business-minded women with the goal to provide service and charity in our community, with a focus on improving the lives of women and children.
Our club offers it’s members the opportunity to develop valuable leadership skills while providing service to our community, and building friendships with women with similar interests.
The objectives of Venture Club are:
- To unite and promote the spirit of service and true friendship among its members.
- To develop interest in and concern for public affairs and service.
- To encourage women in business and professions to maintain high ethical standards in accordance with the ideals of Venture Club and Soroptimist organizations.
- To make Venture Club a factor in community welfare and betterment through community service.
Nothing Ventured, Nothing Gained
The Venture Club of Kingman is a non-profit organization sponsored by the Soroptomist Club of Kingman. Mea Carvell began the idea of Venture (service organization for young women) in 1927. The first “ Youth Group” was sponsored by Soroptimist International of Los Angeles. In 1934, the name Venture was adopted. In the 1980’s regions in Japan, Mexico and the Philippines were chartered making Venture a truly international organization.
